Activity #1 Tweet MOOC Resources With Discussion
PART 1: Tweet MOOC Resources: Part 1 of activity #1 will have participants looking for MOOC-related resources that they can share with us via our Twitter feed. After you tweet any type of related resource we ask that you participate in the discussions below.
In order to complete the first part of this activity, you will need your own Twitter account or you can use ours. In case you are not familiar with Twitter, below is video tutorial that can help you get started:
OPTION #1: Tweet MOOC Resources Using Our Twitter Account: If you decide to use our Twitter account you do not need to create or use your own. To proceed with this option you will need to go to www.twitter.com and login using our credentials. The login information is:
Username: allthatismooc Password: Winter2005
Simple Suggestions: You may use the SEARCH TWITTER feature from within Twitter to find related MOOC information that you can then TWEET or you can find Tweetable resources via an Internet search, copy the URL then paste it as a tweet.
OPTION #2: Tweet MOOC Resources Using Your Own Twitter Account: If you decide to use your own Twitter account you will need to either create one or use an account you already have setup. To proceed using this option you will need to go to www.twitter.com and login or setup a new account.
Don't Forget: If you decide to use our Twitter account we will need to know your name when it comes time to awarding badges. Therefore, if you could, please include your name within each tweet.
PART 2: Join In On The Discussion:
We would be interested to know what you have learned from the MOOC information you tweeted. Below is a discussion forum that you can use to articulate your thoughts and ideas. If you prefer to use any/all questions as a springboard to a discussion feel free to pick from the list below.
1. How accessible are MOOC resources? 2. What is the difference between MOOCs & Open Education Resources (OERs)? 3. What is the difference between cMOOCs vs xMOOCs 4. Do you see any benefits to using a MOOC? 5. What would be the limitations of using a MOOC? 6. Discuss your experience with MOOCs.
